Artist Statement
My art begins when I pick up the camera to photograph places that I see from the corner of my eye. My painted collages combine photo images printed on cotton and sheer transparent cloth. I reassemble vividly colored and textured architectural fragments, inviting the viewer to inhabit the imaginary space or moment, transforming a thought or a glimpse into a visual poem.
The cloth photo images are like remnants of an ancient tapestry, carrying in them the deeper mystery and elusiveness of stories, memories and dreams told and untold.
